Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust:

TEWV provides a range of mental health and learning disability services across a large part of Northern England (County Durham, Teesside and North Yorkshire). Applied mental health research is a strong focus for the Trust with key research interests including physical and mental health integration in both common mental health disorders and severe mental illness. It is also leading on studies in primary care mental health and prevention, as well as workforce research.

The Academic Health Science Network for the North East and North Cumbria:

The Academic Health Science Network for the North East and North Cumbria (AHSN NENC) is dedicated to improving healthcare, driving wealth creation and promoting research participation across the region.

School for Medicine, Pharmacy and Health:

This is an interdisciplinary community bringing together academics, clinicians, scientists and scholars. It provides the highest quality experience of teaching and learning and undertakes internationally acclaimed, cutting edge research.

Wolfson Research Institute for Health and Wellbeing:

The Wolfson Research Institute for Health and Wellbeing (established 2001) exists to foster and disseminate the wide range of research undertaken at Durham University to improve human health and well-being.

Durham Clinical Trials Unit:

Leading translational medicine and evidence based implementation; the only clinical trials unit in the North of England to focus on earlier diagnosis and evidence based implementation.

National Biologics Manufacturing Centre:

The £38m centre, based in Darlington, has been established to support the growth of the UK’s biologics industry with open access facilities to support the development and commercialisation of biologic products and process technologies.

North East Stem Cell Institute (NESCI):

In partnership with researchers from Newcastle, NESCI is one of the top stem cell research centres in the world, most recently pioneering stem cell treatment for corneal blindness supported by the MRC.

North Regional Endoscopy Group (NREG) collaborator:

Significant contributor to NREG, building on Durham’s internationally recognised strengths in GI primary care.

Cognitive Neuroscience Research Unit:

The Wolfson Research Institute has housed one of the foremost UK centres for research in cognitive neuroscience, the Department of Psychology's Cognitive Neuroscience Research Unit (CNRU).

Durham CELLS:

Durham's Centre for Ethics and Law in the Life Sciences (CELLS) supports excellence in academic research, innovative teaching and public dialogue on the ethical, social and regulatory issues raised by the life sciences.

Centre for Process Innovation:

The Centre for Process Innovation (CPI) is a technology innovation centre and the process arm of the High Value Manufacturing Catapult. CPI collaborates with universities, SMEs and large corporates to help overcome innovation challenges and develop next generation products and processes.
