Health Inequalities between the North and the rest of England are deeply entrenched and widening. The Northern Health Science Alliance has recognised the importance of tackling these inequalities and the benefit the excellence of the region’s expertise in this area can bring to its people.

The NHSA brings together leading health inequalities experts to work on significant projects in the field of benefit to the entire North and beyond. Its work has made a national impact and helped change national policy in this area.

We have developed partnerships and working relationships in this field with the National Institute for Health Research Applied Research Collaboratives in the North, the Inequalities in Health Alliance, and the N8.
